Can you make an option available to plot notams without a route being created please?

No; without a route plotted, SkyDemon doesn't know which flight information regions you want NOTAM for.

This is one that I've been wondering about too.

Tim, how about a "Point Brief", like you get on the AIS site? For example, if I know that I'm just going for a local bimble, I have no need to plot a route but I would love to be able to get NOTAMs for the local area before I go.

So a "Point Brief" feature, which would take as parameters the centre (airfield, navaid etc...) and radius would be a very useful feature I think. Then I could just do an update and download them to Skydemon Mobile shortly before take-off.

I agree there a need for this.  I often create a very short local route to do this but a point brief with fixed or selectable radius would be a good addition.

How about the ability to right-click on the map and trigger a point brief from there?

We'd need to add a new brief type to the notam filtering tool where you could specify the radius.

Perfect! And maybe add a temporty mark to the map and/or even a corresponding entry in the Route library - after all this is really only a short route!

Sounds like a plan, but just out of curiosity, how do the techie types at UKGA (http://ukga.com/gis/notam) manage to produce a Notam map without a route? Just a thought.

My guess would be because they are UKGA and probably download every NOTAM for the UK and plot all of them, whereas SkyDemon is an international piece of software and it needs to know where in the world you will be flying so it only downloads the NOTAMs for the appropriate FIR's rather than everything in the world w00t
